Client Background & Amazon Case Study Overview

Client Background & Amazon Case Study Overview
Tommee Tippee is a legacy baby care brand owned by Mayborn Group, founded in 1965. Originally a UK-based company, Tommee Tippee has since grown into a category leader across pacifiers, baby bottles, and toddler cups in the US market. In 2025, Tommee Tippee was on pace to generate roughly $25M in Amazon US revenue and held the #1 pacifier share on the marketplace by sales.
The brand’s catalog needed proper management because it’s large and diverse: multiple pacifier stages and nipple types, Natural Start and Anti-Colic bottle lines, toddler cups, plus sterilizers, bottle warmers, and other accessories are sold by Tommee Tippee on Amazon.
Mayborn engaged Brandwoven in January 2024 to optimize Tommee Tippee’s product listings for enhanced digital merchandising, SEO, and conversion. In the early stages of the partnership, we focused on conducting a full catalog management audit to build a project tracker with priority tasks and timelines. We then conducted SEO research using top competitor products for each of the different categories. This research allowed us to understand what search terms customers were using to find the products on Amazon and inform our copywriting. Because Tommee Tippee is a UK based company, their existing Amazon copywriting included terms that were specific to the UK customer and were not targeted to the US audience.
Improving Shoppability with Variations & Digital Merchandising

Improving Shoppability with Variations & Digital Merchandising
Brandwoven evaluated Tommee Tippee’s current variation structures for shoppability and conversion. When we look at variations, we want to include as many products under a single variation as possible to make it easy for the customer to shop – giving them options to purchase by color, size, or pack size.
We also worked with Mayborn’s Global marketing team to advise on Amazon A+ Content and listing image creative enhancements.
What made this engagement unique:
- Tommee Tippee is a global brand with UK-first creative and terminology and a US growth goal
- Large SKU count with complex variation families
- Strict brand governance requiring a consultative (not production-first) creative process
Tommee Tippee’s Amazon Challenges
Relevant Copywriting for Amazon Product Detail Pages

Relevant Copywriting for Amazon Product Detail Pages
Tommee Tippee UK Terminology vs US Search Behavior
Tommee Tippee’s global brand marketing relied on UK language that didn’t match US customer vocabulary. Examples:
- “Soothers” vs. Pacifiers
- “Teats” vs. Nipples
- British spellings (e.g., sterilising vs. sterilizing)
The result of using these terms was misalignment with US search intent and reduced discoverability for high-volume keywords.
Amazon Bundling, Variations, Copywriting, and Listing Images

Amazon Bundling, Variations, Copywriting, and Listing Images
Inconsistent Variation Structures
Tommee Tippee pacifiers, bottles, cups, and kits were split or otherwise mixed incorrectly when there were opportunities for many of these styles to be in a single variation family. This variation mix-up created:
- Fragmented reviews
- Lower sessions per SKU vs. consolidated variation pages
- Poor browse and filter experiences for parents who shop by age or their child’s growing stage
Lack of Clarity in Amazon Virtual Bundles
Tommee Tippee gift sets and virtual bundles drove confusion: Amazon product detail pages didn’t clearly show what’s included or the age/stage fit. Pricing value wasn’t obvious and existing Amazon listing images didn’t map to parent needs (e.g., newborn vs. 6+ months). This invited returns and suppressed conversion.
Amazon Creative Governance: Tommee Tippee Listing Image Assets
As a global brand, Mayborn maintains strict creative controls. Early on, the US team couldn’t publish new visuals without alignment to global marketing guidelines. We needed a consultative approach to guide new Tomme Tippee listing image assets that met Amazon best practices and brand rules.

What Brandwoven Implemented for Tommee Tippee

What Brandwoven Implemented for Tommee Tippee
Brandwoven’s approach combined comprehensive catalog management and daily operations, data-backed user experience improvements, and tight collaboration with Mayborn’s global marketing team. We focused on catalog correctness first, then clarity in creative and bundling, and finally traffic so that paid dollars amplified Amazon product detail pages that were properly built to convert.
Amazon US-First Copywriting: Search-Led and Parent-Friendly

Amazon US-First Copywriting: Search-Led and Parent-Friendly
We approached Amazon copywriting with how US parents searched and decided on products, grounded in keyword volume and common-sense phrasing.
Our Process:
- Keyword research: Analysis across pacifiers, bottles, and cups to identify high-intent US terms for Tommee Tippee’s target audience (e.g., “anti-colic bottle” and “toddler cups 1–3”).
- Title & bullet rewrites: Structured for scannability and SEO, we led with age/stage and key benefits (e.g., breast-like nipple, anti-colic venting, and leak-proof spouts).
- Description refreshes: Clear, benefit-driven Amazon copywriting with concise explanations of technical features for new parents.
- Backend keywords: We filled unused backend fields with non-indexed terms, misspellings, and Spanish translations within character limits to widen product reach.
Our goal was to meet parents where they were: on mobile devices, short on time, and searching by problem or stage.
Variation Strategy: Clean Families, Stronger Sessions

Variation Strategy: Clean Families, Stronger Sessions
Variation hygiene was a major overhaul and led to a huge lift for the brand.
Our team defined a clear strategy then executed it with patience and persistence through Amazon casework as needed.
Our variation strategy focused on:
- Shoppability first: Only combine children that helped shoppers compare the same product across meaningful attributes (e.g., color and stage). We completely avoided mashing different use-cases.
- Preserve reviews: Where appropriate, we connected new Amazon children (e.g., Tommee Tippee gift sets or virtual bundles) to strong parent ASINs which led to inheriting their discoverability and reviews.
- Document the shift: We maintained PIM variation views as a single source of truth to prevent data misalignment.
By consolidating fragmented pages into clean variation families, we drastically reduced shopper friction and improved the browsing experience. This seamless path to purchase directly contributed to a 17.24% YTD Conversion Rate for pacifiers, and scaled overall units shipped.
Amazon Bundling Strategy: Make Value Obvious

Amazon Bundling Strategy: Make Value Obvious
Parents loved Tommee Tippee’s gift sets and virtual bundles, but their corresponding Amazon product detail pages weren’t making these offers obvious. We addressed two levers: the offer and the storytelling.
- Amazon gift sets (physical kits): We clarified how each Tommee Tippee set mapped to a stage or use-case (e.g., Newborn Feeding or Anti-Colic Essentials).
- Virtual bundles: We identified common cross-purchases and built bundles that saved time for parents and increased AOV for the global Amazon brand.
Storytelling upgrades we made:
- “What’s Included” image: For 8 gift sets and 6 virtual bundles, we upgraded Tommee Tippee’s Amazon listing images to show every item in the box, with callouts and quantities. Our team created text overlays to ensure shopper clarity and showcase value (e.g., “X-piece set” where appropriate).
- Age/Stage badges: Prominent, consistent age staging in Amazon listing image carousels 2-3 to help reduce returns.
Clarifying the value and contents of our gift sets gave parents the confidence to purchase higher-priced items and increase AOV. This visual and structural overhaul acted as a primary driver behind our >4x increase in YTD Shipped COGS for the top 3 ASINs.
Creative: Consultative Model That Honors Global Brand Guardrails

Creative: Consultative Model That Honors Global Brand Guardrails
Mayborn’s global marketing team owns brand creative. Rather than force US-specific listing images, we advised on Amazon best practices and where the global brand toolkit needed adaptation for stronger US marketplace performance.
What we did:
- Creative audits: Reviewed high-priority Tommee Tippee Amazon product detail pages and highlighted missing listing image assets (age/stage clarity, in-use lifestyle, benefit-forward infographics, and virtual bundle contents).
- Listing image briefs: Provided page-by-page guidance on image impact, headline structure, and phrasing of claims.
Outcome: A repeatable playbook the global marketing team could scale, with US marketplace nuance built in.

Forward-Looking Advertising Plan

Forward-Looking Advertising Plan
Our immediate focus was on Amazon catalog management, mainly product detail page correctness and clarity. As the remaining variation casework was resolved, we outlined a right-sized media plan that aligned with US search behavior and the revised Amazon product detail pages. We intentionally waited to scale paid traffic after the foundational changes (Amazon copywriting, variations, and listing images) were fully updated to ensure we could properly measure the lift.
Due to the success of our partnership, we added Amazon AMS and DSP management services to the engagement.

Amazon Case Study Conclusion: Brandwoven & Tommee Tippee Partnership
Brandwoven impacted Tommee Tippee’s Amazon US marketplace growth with:
- US-language alignment to ensure Tommee Tippee shows up where US parents look, not where global brand terminology previously led.
- Simplified variation families improved the shopping experience, increased sessions, and concentrated reviews. This was a vital improvement for the brand to effectively grow in competitive baby categories on the marketplace.

- Creative governance + marketplace know-how was a solvable tension; our consultative model protects the global brand while also improving marketplace performance.
Tommee Tippee’s US growth on Amazon required patient, detailed work—the kind that rarely makes headlines but always moves the needle.
