Since Our Inception, Our Amazon Agency Has Partnered with Clothing and Apparel Brands

Amazon is now the #1 clothing and footwear retailer in the United States — surpassing Walmart back in 2018 and showing no signs of slowing down. Amazon marketplace is now the go-to clothing and apparel destination for consumers.

For brands looking to capitalize on this opportunity, unfortunately the reality is that selling clothing and apparel items on Amazon is competitive and structurally complex.

Most shoppers are making purchase decisions in seconds on a mobile phone screen — and whether they can quickly find the right size, color, or fit variant before moving on to a competitor product is entirely dependent on how well your catalog is structured. Navigating that variation architecture alongside strict image requirements, trying to listing suppressions from any missing size charts, and keeping up with evolving FBA fees and capacity limits are just a few of the challenges apparel brands face on Amazon.

Brandwoven has experience managing all of this and more for growing brands like Frogg Toggs, Palladium, Suunto, Rig ‘Em Right, Kryptek, Berne, and more.

Full-Service Amazon Marketplace Management for Clothing and Apparel Brands

Strategic Catalog Management

Apparel catalogs are among the most complex to manage on any marketplace. A single product might require dozens of individual child variations tied together through a carefully structured parent/child setup. We map every size, color, and fit combination for you so that shoppers can find exactly what they're looking for without leaving your product page. Seasonal changes, new product launches, and the risk of suppressions from missing or incorrect product data are just a few more reasons why so many apparel brands turn to a dedicated catalog management agency partner. Brandwoven's team handles the setup, ongoing maintenance, and optimization of your entire catalog so that your products are always structured correctly, easy to find, and built to convert.

Full-Service Custom Creative Services

In the apparel industry, creative assets need to go beyond meeting the minimum requirements or just “looking good”. Your creative strategy should be designed to remove every reason a shopper might hesitate to purchase. Marketplaces like Amazon and Walmart have strict image requirements for clothing items, such as white background hero shots with multiple angles, on-model imagery, and lifestyle images recommended as secondary shots. Getting this right reduces return rates by giving customers the confidence to make the right size and style decision the first time. Brandwoven's in-house creative team understands both the technical requirements and the storytelling needed to make your products stand out — from hero images and lifestyle photography direction, to A+ Content and brand stores built to convert browsers into buyers.

Full-Funnel Advertising for Apparel Brands

Clothing and apparel customers search on Amazon by fit, fabric, occasion, and activity ("slim fit chino," "waterproof jacket for women", etc.). Your ad strategy needs to reflect this. Brandwoven's marketing team builds keyword targeting strategies rooted in how actual customers shop, layering Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands campaigns with tactics like DSP retargeting and Amazon Marketing Cloud audiences to reach shoppers at every stage of the purchase journey. Because ad creative is the first thing a shopper sees before clicking through to your listing, we also ensure your imagery and messaging are aligned.

Experience Where it Matters

The numbers speak for themselves: Brandwoven has onboarded hundreds of thousands of items onto online marketplaces, initiated thousands of FBA shipments, and negotiated on behalf of apparel brands on Vendor Central. Our experience means we know how to structure size charts to prevent listing suppressions or quickly resolve them if they do happen. We understand how missing or incorrect product data impacts conversion rates, and we stay on top of evolving regulatory requirements like PFAS regulations that are increasingly impacting clothing manufacturers. Our experience saves clients thousands in avoidable mistakes and makes them millions in revenue each year.

FAQs About Our Amazon Clothing and Apparel Agency

I have a large catalog. How many items can your team handle?

The Brandwoven team is equipped to manage and thrives on large catalogs. We have some clients with thousands of items.

Do you help with PFAS compliance disclosures on marketplace?

PFAS, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (often called “forever chemicals”) are increasingly regulated at the state level for apparel, textiles, and accessories – so clothing manufacturers need to be paying attention. States including California, New York, Maine, and Colorado have passed legislation restricting or banning the sale of apparel containing intentionally added PFAS, with more states expected to follow. While Amazon does not yet have a platform-wide PFAS policy, the marketplace has a history of moving quickly to enforce compliance with state and federal regulations, and brands that aren’t prepared risk having listings restricted or removed with little warning.

Brandwoven helps brands understand how these requirements intersect with their marketplace operations. That means flagging when new platform policies emerge that could affect your listings, ensuring that any required disclosures are accurately reflected in your product detail pages, and making sure your catalog is structured to accommodate compliance updates without disrupting your broader listing health.

If you manufacture or sell outdoor apparel, performance gear, or textiles, this is an area worth proactive attention now rather than reactive scrambling later. The patchwork of state-level PFAS regulations varies significantly in scope and timeline, and the brands best positioned on marketplace will be the ones that have already worked through compliance at the product level before it becomes a platform enforcement issue.

How do you manage FBA inbound logistics for seasonal apparel lines?

Even for apparel brands that maintain a healthy IPI score and aren’t subject to storage limits, the inbound logistics side of FBA still requires careful, year-round management, especially for brands with seasonal lines. Amazon can still block inbound shipments for individual SKUs it determines have exceeded 90 days of supply on hand, which can be a real problem if Amazon doesn’t yet have enough historical data to recognize your seasonal demand pattern. We’ve seen this happen ahead of major events like Prime Day and the holiday season, when Amazon has tightened inbound capacity across accounts to prioritize historically high-performing products.

Brandwoven plans shipments with these dynamics in mind well in advance of peak periods. That means tracking lead times year-round (fulfillment center receiving times slow considerably during busy seasons) and ensuring that product data like unit dimensions, case weights, and packing configurations are accurate so cubic footage calculations don’t create unexpected blocks at the shipment creation stage.

When additional capacity is needed beyond what Amazon allocates, we also help brands navigate the Capacity Manager bidding process, where you can request extra storage space in exchange for a reservation fee that is offset by performance credits as inventory sells through.

Do apparel brands have FBA storage limits on Amazon?

Professional sellers of standard-sized apparel and footwear items are not subject to Amazon’s monthly storage capacity limits, provided they maintain their Inventory Performance Index (IPI) score within Amazon’s required threshold. The IPI score is calculated based on several factors including your sell-through rate, in-stock rate, excess inventory levels, and stranded inventory. Brandwoven monitors IPI health as part of our ongoing account management, flagging risks before they become a capacity problem.

It’s also worth noting that new Seller Central accounts don’t have any storage limits for their first 39 weeks of activity regardless of IPI score, giving newer apparel brands time to establish their sales history and inventory rhythm before limits are introduced

How do you prevent suppressed listings for apparel items?

Amazon has been systematically suppressing static size chart images from listing carousels in favor of an AI-generated dynamic size chart built from your backend catalog data. If that backend data is missing, inconsistent, or uses non-normalized values like “One Size Fits All” instead of standardized sizes like “S,” “M,” or “L,” your listings can disappear from search results entirely.

Brandwoven ensures that every apparel SKU has the required physical dimensions and sizing attributes populated correctly in the backend, and that size chart data is entered through Amazon’s Self-Serve Size Chart Tool so the platform uses your brand’s official measurements rather than AI-generated approximations. We also audit image compliance and title character limits specific to clothing and accessory categories, which have become stricter as Amazon has moved toward AI-driven compliance enforcement.

When suppressions do occur, fast identification and resolution is critical. Brandwoven’s team monitors catalog health regularly, and our familiarity with both the causes and the resolution paths means suppressed listings get addressed before they compound into broader ranking or return rate problems.

How does Brandwoven approach product variation setup for apparel?

Our team evaluates each product line individually. For apparel specifically, we know how to navigate variation requirements, populate the right grouping and attributes correctly the first time, and avoid pitfalls that cause variations to break or display incorrectly on the detail page.

Getting the parent/child variation structure right (mapping size, color, and fit combinations under a single listing) keeps shoppers on your product page longer, consolidates reviews across your catalog, and improves organic discoverability. Getting it wrong means suppressed listings, shopper confusion, and lost conversions that are hard to trace back to the root cause.

Who will work on my account?

Every client is assigned an Account Director for strategy and negotiations, a Client Success Manager as the day-to-day point of contact, and a Client Coordinator to maintain the backend of your account on marketplace. For clients that elect to have Brandwoven handle their marketing, a Marketing Manager will also join the team.

Does Brandwoven share my brand’s information with anyone else?

At Brandwoven, we are fully committed to each client. We never share or distribute your information without your expressed consent.

How long is my commitment to Brandwoven?

Brandwoven is equipped to handle short-term projects, yearly commitments, and beyond. We attempt to tailor every agreement to best meet the client’s needs and business expectations.
